Nutanix: Why adopt cloud in the first place?

Nutanix discusses the reasons why organizations are eager to embrace the cloud. One reason is the automatic transition from on-premises Microsoft licenses to Azure, making them Azure customers. Another motive is the desire to drive digitization and achieve agility in their businesses, believing that the public cloud is the key to achieving this. However, challenges arise when organizations assume that all their workloads can seamlessly transition to the public cloud and benefit from its rich services. This creates a wrestling match between applications in the data center and those suited for the public cloud.

As organizations adopt the cloud, they introduce new technologies to their platforms, creating silos of IT and increasing complexity. According to the Enterprise Cloud Index survey, the majority of organizations express the need for a unified management solution to reduce these silos. The goal is to have one place to manage all applications and data effectively.
