DAST is an important testing capability to have in your security testing portfolio for a couple of reasons. First, in the last couple of years, organizations really accelerated their investment in their digital capabilities. So this resulted in companies having more websites or expanding the functionality of their existing web application capabilities and then on top of that, development teams have really adopted DevOps and that's given them the ability to release new capabilities continuously. So from an adversaries point of view, this means that you have an attack surface area that's growing and it's changing rapidly. So that really increases chances of new vulnerabilities getting introduced into these applications for them to exploit.
